The European Commission has approved under the EU Merger Regulation the creation of a joint venture, Encory GmbH, by Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft (BMW) and ALBA Group plc & Co. KG, all of Germany. Encory will be active in the recycling, processing and resale of used car parts and provide waste management services for car parts and residues. BMW produces cars and motorcycles of the brands BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce. ALBA is a global waste management company, also active in the supply of raw materials.
